The marvel of the internet for me is that likeminded people can work together wherever they are in this beautiful world.
The frustration is that so much good stuff is going on in cyberspace but is not making a sufficient impact in the real world (the word "sufficient" is important here). So my vision is that the global taxreform group develops "roots" in the real world by having at least two people meeting up in real space in many different locations. After all, this is the reason for the existence of Meetup.com. So with five continents (or should we include Antarctica?) and somany countries, we could start by aiming to have at least one group of two or more people in every country. I believe that when people exchange ideas and interests about important subjects they are doing real work. *Doing* something about these ideas and interests will be a second step because *doing* starts with thinking and mental collaboration. Hello again, and happy New Year,
Has no one in the world seen my post here so far? This latest service from meetup.com is well worth patronising. Or have most people lost the awareness of how important it is to keep ideas going even if it seems that one can do nothing about them at any one time? ![]() Janos ------- Knowledge without action is sterile; but, action without knowledge is blind. I am visiting family in New Zealand.
I am also observing how similar the political and economic problems are here to those of the UK; debt, lack of public funds, complaints about the tax burden, creeping privatisation of public utilities, lack of long term vision of politicians. Yet, the party that is willing to talk about tackling root causes -- like monetary reform, land value taxation, citizens income -- has no representative in parliament. ------- Knowledge without action is sterile; action without knowledge is blind.
